This is hard to share, but is the best thing to do.
Henri has had a lot of challenges since the pups were born. She has battled eclampsia, which is due to low calcium levels from nursing puppies. It's not uncommon and can usually be supplemented with calcium and managed/prevented.
A week into motherhood, Henri got sick. We thought it was eclampsia, but determined she also was dealing with aspiration pneumonia. She is not a dog that eats inappropriate items, but she did decide to dive into the trash after some cat food I tossed in it. Then she threw up since she also ate other things in the process. This led to aspiration pneumonia. Treatment included hospitalization and antibiotics. Antibiotics use led to diarrhea, which led to not absorbing nutrients well. She was still feeding the pups, which used even more of her nutrients. This led to non-regenerative anemia and some other abnormalities. As of today, 2/20/25, we are working on controlling the diarrhea and bringing her body back into balance. She's getting through this and will be fine, I'm sure.
However, after discussing with her veterinary team, Wanderlust has decided to retire Henri from breeding with this one litter.
Wanderlust plans on keeping a girl from this litter. We'll raise her to be the best Shiloh in the world, second to Henri (In our opinion, anyways). And in 2 years, we expect to have a health tested, proven Henri and Bishop baby to continue our program.
In the meantime, we know a lot of fabulous breeders with planned litters. We'd be happy to send you their information.
Dr. Cindy made out 9 pups on the xrays!! She counted 10 on the ultrasounds, but counting on ultrasounds is really hard and inexact.
Maybe another one is hiding, maybe not. Either way, 9 pups is a lot for a first time mom.
Still have availability.
Wanderlust Shilohs and Hudson Valley Shilohs are excited to confirm the breeding of BCS' Henrietta's Cosmic Storm and High Caliber's Bishop Takes Queen.
Puppies are expected to be a fantastic combination of both parents. Both have outgoing and friendly personalities- puppies should follow suit. Colors are expected to include brown sables and grey sables, with both smooth and plush coats.
The ultrasound revealed a large litter is expected. We'd love to find not only pet homes, but also sport and/or show homes. Breeding quality puppies are also expected.
